Roscongress - Arctic: Territory of Dialogue panel

The programme of the ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ 4th International Arctic Forum is now available. The Forum will take place in Arkhangelsk, Russia, on March 29–30, 2017.

The programme, which focuses on the topic ‘People and the Arctic’, offers over 40 events, including 32 themed sessions and discussions, 2 plenary sessions, and an extended Session of the State Commission for Arctic Development.

The plenary session ‘The Arctic: Territory for Life’ on constructive collaboration between Arctic states will open the Forum. The ‘People and the Arctic’ plenary session, taking place on March 30, 2017, will be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Participants will discuss Russia’s priorities in implementing projects in the Arctic.

The ‘Human capital’ pillar will include discussions on successfully implementing projects aimed at securing human resources in the region, establishing a comprehensive healthcare system, applying state-of- the-art medical technology in the Arctic, and developing the region’s tourism potential.

A number of side-events are also scheduled, including ‘The Arctic. Made in Russia’ International Youth Educational Forum, the Northern Cities Forum, and the Arctic Business Forum.

The ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ International Arctic Forum provides one of the key platforms for discussing the problems and prospects of the Arctic region at the global level. The event is held with direct support from the Government of the Russian Federation, and is designed to bring the global community together in the interests of securing the effective development of the Arctic and improving the lives of Arctic residents.
