The Arctic States refer to the nations that have territory within the Arctic Circle. These states include Canada, Denmark (via Greenland and the Faroe Islands), Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden and the United States (via Alaska).
Collectively, they play significant roles in shaping policies and initiatives related to Arctic affairs, including environmental conservation, resource management, indigenous rights and scientific research.
The Arctic region is known for its extreme cold, unique ecosystems and strategic importance due to its reserves of natural resources and its position as a key area for global climate change observation.
