The EEZs refer to the maritime zones that extend 200 nautical miles out from the coastal baseline of the Arctic nations. These zones are established under international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), to grant coastal states exclusive rights and jurisdiction over the exploration and exploitation of natural resources within these areas.
