White Wiphala Paper on Indigenous Peoples food systems

The White/Wiphala Paper on Indigenous Peoples' food systems, published by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, FAO, was key for the recognition of the game-changer nature of Indigenous Peoples´ food and knowledge systems on sustainability and resilience by the Scientific Committee of the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit (UNFSS).

The flagship publication was coordinated by the Global-Hub on Indigenous Peoples’ Food Systems and catalyzed the creation of the Coalition on Indigenous Peoples food systems. Now it is available in Russian.

The White/Wiphala Paper is the product of a collaborative effort involving more than 60 contributions of Indigenous Peoples' representatives and experts, scientists, researchers, and UN staff from 39 organizations across the world's seven socio-cultural regions. The Global-Hub on Indigenous Peoples’ Food Systems coordinated the final version of the paper which was edited by a Technical Editorial Committee.

Now, the Russian edition will provide a valuable resource for Russian-speaking researchers, policymakers, and scientists interested in the game changer nature of Indigenous Peoples’ food and knowledge systems. Ultimately, the publication of the Russian translation of this Paper will contribute to the goal of preserving and promoting Indigenous Peoples’ food and knowledge systems, while also fostering cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.
