YOPP

The Icepod , goes live, a podcast for the Year of Polar Prediction (YOPP) about polar science and the people. The editors of The IcePods are Kirstin Werner and Sara Pasqualetto from the International Coordination Office for YOPP.

Wermer and Pasqualetto talk to scientists who went on board the German research icebreaker Polarstern, for the biggest research expedition in the Arctic. The podcast is produced in collaboration with the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) and Radio Weser Tv.

In the first episode they talk to Vicky Heinrich a weather observer and Ph.D. candidate on "Antarctic Science: Global connections". For more than ten years Vicky Heinrich has been a regular in the Antarctic where she has been observing clouds and playing with weather balloons for the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BoM).
