Dear Distinguished Colleagues,
Greetings from the University of Alaska, Arctic Domain Awareness Center (ADAC).
On behalf of the UA, ADAC team we hope this message finds you well. I am pleased to share and announce the next quarterly newsletter and updates from the Center which is attached and posted on our website (https://arcticdomainawarenesscenter.org/)
Despite challenges with the pandemic our research teams and project leads have been resilient and overcome these difficulties further supporting our mission to develop and transition technology solutions, innovative products, and educational programs to improve situational awareness and crisis response capabilities related to emerging maritime challenges in the dynamic Arctic environment.
As many of you are aware, ADAC has undergone transitions in leadership during this quarter. Our dear friend, colleague and former ADAC Executive Director Randy "Church" Kee, Major General, USAF (ret) has accepted a position as the Senior Advisor on Arctic Security Affairs to the United States Department of Defense. Please congratulate Church on his new endeavor. The Arctic Domain Awareness Center and the University of Alaska look forward to continued partnership with Church in his new role as we expand on research, education and support for Department of Homeland Security initiatives.
We look forward to ongoing collaborations throughout this year and for years to come. We also want to thank all of you for supporting the Arctic Domain Awareness Center and your contributions to help ensure the Arctic continues to be a place for national and international alliances as we all work together to address climate change and the complications that evolve around it. We all perform more effectively when working together, so thank you all again for the joint efforts in addressing this global initiative.
