UArctic announces upcoming Executive Vice-President
UArctic is delighted to announce that Professor Jouko Niinimäki will join its senior leadership team as Executive Vice-President in April 2025. In this pivotal new role, representing a significant strengthening of UArctic’s leadership capacity, Jouko Niinimäki will serve as the President’s deputy, overseeing all academic affairs and advancing UArctic’s mission of fostering education, research, and innovation in the Arctic region.

Yukon University welcomed two north2north exchange students for fall 2024 semester
Yukon University (YukonU) welcomed two students for the fall 2024 semester – Juuso Korhonen, Energy Engineering, Savonia University of Applied Sciences, and Amandus Gustafsson, Masters of Swedish & General Literature, Stockholm University. Though they come from different countries, the pair have become fast friends in the 4 months since arriving in the Yukon. They explored the land by long distance trail running and spent a lot of time outdoors.
