Welcome to the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists!

The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) is an international and interdisciplinary organization for undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, early faculty members and educators with interests in polar regions and the cryosphere. By providing networking and career development opportunities, APECS activities aim to raise the profile of polar research, develop effective leaders in education and outreach, and stimulate interdisciplinary and international research collaborations. 

This website is the main contact point for APECS members and provides a forum to share news and information, connect with other polar researchers, share stories and trouble shooting tips, discuss important research and career questions, help each other with job searches and finding events that might be of interest and as the foundation to developing international and interdisciplinary collaborations early in our careers. All pages except the discussion forums are open for anyone to view. Being a member gives you several advantages: you can post information to the site, participate in discussion boards, network with other researchers through the membership database, as well as receive periodic updates from the APECS organization.
