On April 8, 2008 the CYSC met in Edmonton at the Telus World of Science Centre for a day of meetings to discuss the development and collaboration of our three main education and outreach projects.  This meeting brought together seven CYSC members from across Canada including Isabelle Turcotte, Alexis Schafer, Isla Myers-Smith, James Hudson, Bronwyn Brock, Meaghan Thompson, Marie Auger-Methe.  We were also joined by Hugues Lantuit, Ian Church, Marianne Douglas, and numerous others via teleconferencing throughout the day.  We discussed the creation and development of the CYSC Time Capsule, which will involve the collection of art, photographs, stories, and surveys to create a "snapshot of the Arctic through the eyes of youth" during this IPY; the development of classroom resources for our "Outreach Up North" project which will see graduate students visit classrooms in northern Canada; and the development of the Grassroots project, to try and secure seed funding for youth-initiated grassroots projects in northern communities.
