Dear friends

Great news from the tropics:)  This last month we had the launch of various events that had major national impact:

- Adventure book. We asked well-known writers that write children´s books (like "The famous five" of Enid Blyton) and working with young scientists, they took one adventure to the Antarctic. The launch was a massive success.

- Exhibition linking Art and Science. Directed to the general public, this exhibition deals with questioning everyone about their own conceptions about the polar regions.

- Scientists go to schools. Scientists and schools are working pretty well together and despite we were doing fieldwork very recently, we just returned to the schools to show our latest results.

In the future, we are organizing a "Polar weekend" where young scientists will be providing workshops showing their work and it will be directed to schools pupils, teachers and families.

We will keep you posted on the Science, Education and Outreach initiatives in Portugal...
