A new global research funding programme on transformation to sustainability is now available.

Transformations to Sustainability will promote research on the most urgent problems of global change and sustainability — including climate change, biodiversity loss, water and food security, energy consumption, and poverty and growing inequalities.

The programme will support researchers from the social, behavioural and economic sciences to take the lead in developing international Transformative Knowledge Networks that will:

Transformations to Sustainability will issue two calls for proposals in 2014.

The first call, issued on 31 March 2014, is for proposals for seed funding – a possible 30 grants of €30,000 each – to help researchers prepare for the full call.

Deadline for submissions is 31 May 2014. Funding decision — 30 June 2014.

The second call in October 2014 will be for full proposals for Transformative Knowledge Networks of which a possible three grants of €300,000/year over 3 years will be made.

Deadline for submissions — Mid-January 2015. Funding decision — 30 April 2015.
